FAQS

DO I HAVE TO BE A UQ STUDENT TO JOIN?

Yes. Due to rules and restrictions of the competitions we compete in, you must have a valid UQ student ID to compete with us.

WHERE DO YOU COMPETE?

We compete at multiple competitions throughout the year from June-November, including Australian All Star Cheerleading Federation (AASCF) Competitions, Australian University Nationals and some Dance and Cheer Events (DCE) competitions.

DO I NEED ANY EXPERIENCE TO JOIN?

No! There is absolutely no experience necessary to join our cheer teams, just come along to tryouts and we will place you in a team based on your level of ability. While previous dance experience is preferred for our dance teams, it is not compulsory, so if you have a natural groove and a passion for dance, we strongly encourage you to come along and give it a go!

HOW OFTEN DO YOU TRAIN?

Most of our teams train once a week, from 7.30-9pm on their respective days, however in 2019, our elite pom and jazz team, Comets, will train twice weekly.

DOES IT COST ANYTHING TO JOIN A TEAM?

It is completely free to attend auditions, however since we are a not-for-profit organisation, any fees go directly towards coach hire, venue hire, registration and uniform hire.

WHERE DO YOU TRAIN?

UQCS trains in and around Brisbane. Depending on the team you are on, you could be training in Kedron, Indooroopilly, Toowong, or even on campus.
